Bed & Breakfast
The three guest bedrooms are all fine,
large rooms on the first floor, each
having its own en suite bathroom.
Food – Ballymaloe inspired, with a touch of Italian.
Vegetables from the walled garden – asparagus in April and May,
salads, courgettes, new potatoes, cucumbers and tomatoes in the summer, pumpkins
and squashes in the autumn, strawberries and raspberries, when in season,
from a local fruit farm.
Walks - A new river walk is being cleared at Woodbrook
and there are marvellous walks among the nearby Blackstairs Mountains
Sustainability – In 2006 Woodbrook went green. The hot water is now heated by solar panels,
the central heating boiler burns wood pellets and the family car runs on biofuel
made from Irish grown rapeseed.
And in 2007 and 2008 the Irish Green Gathering took place at Woodbrook.
The house is open for guests in principle from Easter
to September and during the
but not during the summer English courses in July.
Stays also can be arranged on an ad hoc basis at
other times. Woodbrook can also be an ideal location for small (up to 120 guests) weddings.
Woodbrook belongs to Hidden Ireland –
an interesting collection of historic private houses
where you can stay in style and comfort.
Prices 2010 - same as in 2009, but substantial discounts available
